Jacksonville OBGYN Recommendations?

Hi Everyone!

I am 7 weeks pregnant and searching for a friendly OBGYN out here in Jacksonville. My fiance and I just moved down here from Wisconsin, so I am not sure who to go to. If anyone could give me some suggestions I would really appreciate it. Also, if you're in the JAX area and looking for a friend message me! Thanks :)

Re: Jacksonville OBGYN Recommendations?

  • I'm using the North Florida OB/GYN group at Baptist South - doctors Connor, VanBennekom, Blackley, Greenhaw, Greenwald.. I think that's it :)

Dr. Greenhaw delivered B and I was really happy with him.  I recently miscarried and have been seeing Dr. VanBennekom for it, he's really great.

  • I went to the same group at Baptist South.  I was very happy with them.  I will also say that Dr. VanBennekom is really cute!  Wink
  • Dr Brock, with Sekine, Rasner and Brock. There are 2 different offices, one at Baptist downtown and one on San Jose Blvd.

Dr. Brock is amazing. I seriously love her and the entire practice.

    Good luck and Congratulations!

It's so funny that you said that - a few of my girlfriends also go there and we refer to him as Dr. Hottie - haha!

  • I went to A Place for Women, with Dr's Slade, Phoenix, Van Scriver, and a midwife whose name I can't recall (I never saw her). They are awesome, and have great office staff! I delivered with Dr. Slade, but most people around here HIGHLY recommend Dr. Van Scriver.

The office is off of the Belfort Rd exit from JTB on the Southside, and almost right across the street from Saint Luke's hospital, which is where they deliver.

  • If you are all inclined to a natural birth, I highly recommend the midwives at Fruitful Vine birth center. Sharon and Hope are wonderful and are super friendly. They are located at Beach and Parental Homes.

  • I use FABEN OBGYN. They are an all female practice at Baptist Downtown.
  • I use FABEN at Baptist.  They are amazing!  I've been seeing them since before I found out I was pregnant and they are the best and most caring doctors I've ever had.
  • I had some spotting that I wasn't sure if it was normal or not so I went to St. Lukes for them to check it out. The woman giving me my ultrasound recommended Van Scriver too. I'm going to look into her. Thanks :)

  • I use the UF Beaches Women's Health Specialists. All of the physicians are female and great. They only deliver at Baptist Beaches, though.

  • I also used North Fla OB/GYn and Dr. Vanbennekom did my c-section. I loved all of the doctors and the office staff is very professional and friendly.

  • I go to North Florida OB/Gyn at St. Vincent's.  I have gone there before I was pregnant too and everyone that I have seen is very helpful and nice.  The doctors there are MacLeod, Long (Mr. & Mrs), Virtue, Wells, Laubscher, Jago & Browning.  Prior to becoming pregnant I saw a NP named Snider and she was great and since becoming pregnant I have seen Jago and Laubscher.  Virtue is also highly recommended there but I have not seen him yet.  Also since you are early in your pregnancy they will have you meet with a lady named Gay to go over some paperwork and she will answer any questions and concerns that you may have.  Good luck with your choice.
