Wainscotting anyone?

I've always imagined wainscotting in our nursery... beats the he!! out of me why, but I have.  I think it is so pretty.  And since we are going w/ the nautical theme, I think it will match perfectly.  Now questions...

I'm thinking of having the wainscotting in white... do you think that will match w/ 1) expresso furniture, and 2) pecan colored wood floor (which prob be mostly covered with an area rug)?

Also, if you used it, is it easy to put up?  I saw that Lowe's have a kit online that was pretty affordable... wonder if Dh can put it up himself.

I love wainscotting.. I think it would look great with a nautical theme.  (I did nautical for my son)..

Im sure your DH could do it. Is he handy? Thankfully mine is and has redone most of our house.

  Yes, DH is handy around the house, and loves playing w/ power tools!  LOL  The problem is that his brothers and father aren't, so he maybe solo in this project.  : (  Hopefully he agrees... I'm really inspired.

I think it's a great idea, and I do think the white would be a nice contrast to the two other woods in the room. Go for it! Of course, easy for me to say. We don't have experience with it, but it sounds doable. Does he have a handy friend who could help if his brothers and dad aren't interested?

In our experience, Home Depot  and Lowe's employees have been great at walking DH through different projects, and I'm sure there are videos online that would help a ton.

I LOVE white wainscotting but couldn't convince my DH.  I think it would look great with your floor and furniture.  Post pics if you do it!

We did it in Nico's room in white and also have expresso furniture and wood floors. We bought a kit at home depot and it was a PITA!!!! but I love how it came out and would do it again.

we have it in our office and I love it. It was a PITA to put up because of our knockdown walls but worth it. We had to use an air gun nail thingie.

Oh we have knowdown walls too... I guess Dh has a challenge ahead of him!  Preparing him to be a dad of twins. : )

Ditto!  I love wainscotting.  I love Victorian/Colonial homes that have architectural details like that.   I always picture it white so I wouldn't paint it any other color regardless of furniture/flooring.   I think it would look great in your nursery!

We bought the pre-painted white wainscotting/beadboard from Home Depot for our bathroom. It was EASY to put together. The hardest part may be taking off the old baseboards for the new ones that the board fits in to. But, I think it would look great with your nursery and other selections!
