Not sleeping in bed

For some reason, DS has started sleeping on his floor. He'll either fall asleep in his bed and then move himself or want to sleep on the floor from the beginning. He's started taking his comforter and other blankets and making a little area on the floor to lay. He'll put down a pillow and have his stuffed animals too.

I put him to bed tonight a little before 8 in his bed, checked him at 9:30ish and he was still in bed, but when I just peeked in (around 11:40) he's asleep on the floor in his makeshift bed.

He doesn't do this at naptime and has no answer for me in the morning if I ask why he was sleeping on the floor. Does anyone else have a child who does this? I'm not bothered by it and will let him continue to do it. I just find it odd.

Re: Not sleeping in bed

  • Maybe he's getting hot and the floor is cooler?  My son sometimes moves to the bottom of his bed if he feels the top is too hot and sweaty.
