On one hand, well, it's convenient and who can argue? "Nope, sorry, can't have a cat or dog, I'll itch myself to death". ?Easy.
Buuuuuut the kids want a cat sooo bad. ?We have had them follow us halfway home before - cats generally like the kids, too.
And no, DH and I aren't going to live 24/7 on allergy meds. ?grr.
ETA we went to the pet store tonight while on a walk. ?There was a pair of kittens that needed to come home with us. ?
Re: I wish I wasn't allergic to cats.

Goose - ditto! 20minutes tops in a house with a cat and I'm done. Eyes swollen shut, sneezing my guts out, wheezing, etc. There's really just no way in hell.
And dogs.. I LOVE dogs. But can't handle the poopscoop duties, the dog smell, etc.
HIVES! HIVES!!!! ITCHY!!! NOOOOOOOOOO
Get allergy shots I used to be allergic to cats, which was a big problem since I work at an animal hospital! I caused serious sinus issues by ignoring it, had to have surgery etc. Anyways, I got the shots and at last test was coming up negative.
My 3 year old is severely allergic to cats. He also has several other environmental allergies that will cause sinus issues like mine later in life if not dealt with so he gets allergies shots for those. I figured since he was getting shots every week we might as well do shots for cats as well. So far he's been getting the shots for about 8 months and he's still severely allergic to them, I "test" him occasionally when I have to bring him to a house call job with me that has cats.
