Newbie introducing myself

Hello from Denver! I'm a recent newlywed married in Oahu who is 7 weeks pregnant. I had my first OB appointment today, and we saw a heartbeat! That was the first good baby-related news I've had, and I was so grateful for it.

Unfortunately, I found out last year that I have several anatomic anomalies that put me at high risk for all the badness that comes with pregnancy--miscarriage, IUGR, malpresentations, pre-eclampsia, and preterm labor. I'm already being followed by a Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist, and we are proceeding with cautious optimism. I've miscarried once, and since MH and I decided it was best to wait until as late as possible to announce anything, it kind of sucked to go through it with just his support (although he's been great).

I'm looking forward to sharing this experience with you all. I've been lurking for two weeks, and I've enjoyed thinking about babies and pregnancy even if I'm not talking about them yet. :)
