DS started solids a few weeks ago, and we're adjusting to the new poo (never thought I'd long for the days of BM poo, but I do!).
He's been going every other or every third day now, and almost every time it's been a major poo-splosion. There's just soooo much poo! It comes up and out of the back (waist) of the diaper. At first I thought it was because he was in the Bumbo chair and it didn't really have anywhere else to go; but since then he's done it laying down, in the exersaucer thing and in his carseat.
It's happened in several types of diapers: Flips, FuzziBunz, and BG organic AIOs. What are we doing wrong?!? Any and all suggestions will be appreciated.
Re: Poo Trouble - Help!
It may just be a coincidence - he's getting bigger, right? so maybe it's time to adjust the dipes? FWIW, we started using flushable diaper liners to catch poop and BOY has it made life easier! Might not stop a 'splosion, but at least you won't be scraping off so much waste.

My DS was the same way....always WAY ahead of his peers in the weight department! But he's actually leveled off now. Since his 1 year visit (which was 3.5 months ago), he hasn't even gained a full pound (he had an ear infection this week so we were at the pedi's and they checked his weight to dose his medicine). He's about 29 lbs, bigger than most of my friends' 2-3 year olds! It's amazing how much they slim down once they're mobile, though.
I had no idea! LOL! Does this happen with disposables, too? How did I not know this?
The frustrating part is that I DO change him right away. Like today, I totally watched him poop while he was in his exersaucer thing. He was leaning forward, not really on his butt and I grabbed him out as soon as it looked like he was done. The poo was all the way up to the tippy top of the diaper and just ready to come out the top. I couldn't really figure out how to change him standing up, and so the minute I laid him down on the changing pad -- it was like squeezing a tube of toothpaste! (sorry for the TMI, but I'm so tired of the crazy poo!).
At least I can take comfort in knowing that it's not just me. But I hope the poo continues to evolve and we eventually get past this stage. Otherwise, I'm never going to take him out of the house. I can just picture this happening in the car seat, or at a restaurant, or in the stroller, or...
