I just went to buy Jack some fall clothes today. All we got as gifts was 0-3 month's and it is all summer stuff, don't know what people think. Anyway, I bought a bunch of Carters stuff at Kohl's today and I bought all 6 months stuff. I went by the weights on the tag and since Jack is probably somewhere around 10-11lbs I thought it would be best to buy the 6 months. Just seems weird to be buying 6 months when he is just 2 months now.
Is Carter's stuff true to size? How do they hold up in the wash?
Re: Carters clothes sizing
Carter's is the what I compare everything else to, size wise...
Carter's runs true to size for us, and I personally think Old Navy's sizing is crazyness. Caroline can wear an 18 months size dress from ON, but can still wear her 9 month dresses from Carters.
To me, they were on the small side compared to other brands.
I know that the carters NB were the first onesies that my boys outgrew. They are in 3 months now, but it's getting tight.

I love Carters stuff. It has seemed true to size for me, but E has always been small (still wearing Carters 12 month at 15 months). It holds up great in the wash. Some of our summer stuff has faded, but that's after multiple washes.
For sizes, think of their 3 month like other brands' 0-3, 6 month is 3-6, 9 month is 6-9 and 12 month is 9-12, etc. I like their sizes better than places like ON and Gymboree who just do a 6-12 and a 12-18.

Thanks ladies. I just weighted him on our scale which I know is not an accurate weight but I wanted to get an idea and it looks like he is in the 12lb range. I tried one of the 6 month outfits on him and he is swimming in it, even the 3 month seems a little big. I don't want to buy him 3 months since he will probably be out of them quickly but I don't want to send him to school in clothes he is swimming in either. I guess he is just between sizes and it's very frustrating.
Looks like I have to either stop feeding him or start feeding him a lot more!!

After 4yrs, 5 IUI's, 2 IVF's, 2 FET's, PGD, and 5 losses our little miracle is finally here!
Carters fits well for us. V's very solid and the Carters stuff isn't super skinny.
She's in 3-6 month clothes now, too, and they fit her VERY well.
All of the clothes we have are summer as well. Fortunately it will be hot here for a while, but I should buy her a cardigan or two so we can put something over them.
