recommendations for ob in baltimore area

Hi,

So...I just got a positive result and I am super excited. My Gyno is no longer practicing Obstetrics and I am major bummed because I don't really like the office that my Gyno is out of. We aren't telling anyone we are pregnant and I need some good recommendations for an OB. This is our first time getting pregnant and I am going to try to be the chill pregnant chick but I know I care a lot about "bedside" manner and I don't want to feel like I am being pushed along a cattle train. Any recommendations in the baltimore city/catonsville/columbia area would be super helpful.

Thanks!

Great!  Here's my HIGHLY recommended OB/GYN:

I go to Dr. Samuel Akman.  He rocks.  I've been seeign him for about 10yrs!

While preg, I also saw Jeannette Wolff (midwife), Laura (NP) & Dr. Thelma Asare.  All very nice!

The website (at the bottom) lists both locations, Towson & OM

Well then....here ya go!  I love love love Charles Street OBGYN!  There are several other girls on here that go there as well.  There are 3 docs, two are male, the female is Dr. Erdman, my personal fav, but they are all very good.  I never felt rushed at any appts and I felt very well taken care of.  The office is at GBMC and they have later hours on M and W.  I had a fantastic L&D experience and I highly recommend them!

  • I used Bhatnagar, part of the Columbia women's Ob/GYN group (they deliver at St. Agnes but the office is in Columbia) for my GYN and I loved her!  I am using someone else in baltimore for OB now because of an insurance change, otherwise I would have stuck with her.  Good Luck!
  • Thanks so much everyone for all of your tips! It's great to have something like this, especially when you aren't telling anyone this early but you need some advice! I am calling around to all the different recommendations!

    Thanks again!

  • Dr. Adela Navarro is an awesome OBGYN. She practices out of Harbor Hospital but she has several locations. I go to her location in Catonsville the address is 2 W. Rolling Road, if you google " Dr. Adela Navarro OBGYN her name and contact will come up. The Catonsville office number starts with 410-747-****.

    Hope this was helpful,

If Towson isn't too far for you...

Then here's another rec for Charles St. OB!! Ottenritter, Singh, and Eardman are all great. I've found that when I have appts with Ottenritter, I tend to have a longer wait. But, they're all great Dr.'s and don't rush you once you get into your appt. Anytime I've had a question or needed to call because I felt funny- I was either spoken to on the phone right there or brought in for an appt that day.

    Good luck!
