Has anyone out there been
able to keep their bellybutton ring? I saw somewhere that if you get a
flexible teflon bar that it could be ok, but has anyone done this
successfully? I'm 15 weeks in and really don't want to have to lose the
piercing again (accidentally left the jewelry out a few years ago and
had to be repierced last year.)
If you google maternity belly rings you can find some sites that sell them that aren't that expensive. It all depends on if you are looking for just a basic bar or a little dangle or what you're looking for. My doctor made me take mine out and put my maternity one in at about 16 weeks and I'm still barely showing. Also I ordered extras balls because from your maternity pants being higher and rubbing, plus it not being metal the balls fall off easier.
I am going to have to take mine out not because of the pregnancy but because I am having my tubes tied the day after this baby arrives and they will go through my belly button so Dr. says it has to come out. Dr. said if I wasn't having the tubal litigation done I could have kept it and gotten the flexible long teflon bar.

You can get a maternity piercing that is flexible - I was going to do that last time but ended up just ditching my ring because as my belly button flattened, it became annoying. I left my regular ring in until 24 weeks or so though - and could have put it back in after kiddo was born but just never did (my hole still looks open actually).
I took mine out cause my belly button is so popped out its not even funny. You can see where the ring went in and came back out just by standing 2 feet away. I have a feeling if I would have left it in, it would have been ripped out by catching it on something.
