Question: we are getting a used crib from a friend, and it is beautiful but a bit dusty and has been living in a basement for a few years. We've made sure it's up to all the necessary safety standards so I feel fine taking it, but I want to give it a good cleaning before it gets any use. Does anyone know what cleaning products would be safe to use on this? I just don't want to use anything where fumes or chemicals might linger afterwards. Is it a bad idea to use Pledge/Pine Sol/Murphy's Oil Soap or things like that? Probably just being paranoid about this, but I was wondering if anyone had some good ideas. Thanks!!
Re: Safe way to clean used baby furniture??
Is it wood? Target makes a all natural wood cleaner and polish that's made with Almond Oil, my dad does amazing wood work and I use that on the things he's made for us.
If it's not wood, water, vinegar and baking soda is good
Murphy's Oil Soap is very eco-friendly and gentle. I just read the MSDS sheet for it and it seems 100% fine for cleaning. If you bathed in it or regualry drank it you might have issues, but that is it. It has my seal of approval!
