Hello ladies,
I hope everyone had a great end of Summer! I am so happy to see so many BFPs and twins! Please keep spreading your baby dust 'cuz I'd love to get some over here!
I am wondering if anyone has insight on my CBEFM problem. This is my 3rd month using it. The 1st month, I never got a peak. The second month, I got a peak at day 15. This month, at day 21, I have not had a peak. I'm worried that maybe I'm not ovulating every other month! I started at a new gynecologist last week, and since I was just at day 15 when I went to see her, I brought it up that I hadn't peaked that morning, but there was no reason for alarm yet.
I just started temping this month, and according to FF, my temps show that I ovulated on day 15, but I don't understand why a highly sensitive piece of equipment wouldn't pick that up. Has anyone else had this happen?
Is it possible to not ovulate and still have a temperature shift?
Re: CBEFM - AAAgggghhhh!!
I had the same happen with my CBEFM. It never gave me a high or peak, just low all month last month. FF said I ovulated on day 15 or 16. Last time I used CBEFM it did give me a high one day and a peak one day and back to low. I don't know if my body is screwed up or the CBEFM is just not it for me or what.
As for temp shift and not ovulate, I have no clue, sorry
Kristin
My first cycle I got no highs - right to peak. My last cycle I had O pains and EWCM in the evening of a day it gave me a low. We BD because I had not noticed that much EWCM before. The next day it gave me a high - and highs with no peak straight through. The day before AF was due I got a peak. My cycles are very regular. I went and bought another OPK to check it - got the smiley face. I figured I was Ovulating late for some odd reason. It turns out OPKs can detect HCG (but not the other way around - pg tests don't predict ovulation) because the hormones are nearly identical at the molecular level. So I was waiting for H to get home so we could BD (even bought some Tussin at a last ditch effort for my CM which was not EW) and read this - decided to take a pg test x 2 and they were postive.
I think the monitor is reliable - I called and they said sometimes people don't O in a month - but pay attention to your body as well. I obviously ovulated in the evening when the monitor said low and conceived (probably on that low day). The monitor actually told me in this last cycle that I was pregnant - not that I was about to ovulate. If happen to not get a peak and a ridiculous amount of highs - I learned it could mean that you are, indeed, pregnant.
The first couple of months I used mine it wasn't acting right either. I was very frustrated. We ended up taking some time off, and so I just reset mine and used it new this month. I'm happy with the results - 4 Highs and 1 Peak today. I was convinced mine was broken.
Maybe give their customer service line a call to see what they say? It could definitely be faulty.
GL!
Thank you all so much for all the feedback. I did use an opk back in June, and had a few left over that I used last month in conjunction with the CBEFM to check them against each other. The opks showed that I ovulated later than the CBEFM did! Although the opk test sticks had officially "expired" since it had been over 30 days since I'd first opened them.
I'm just trying to keep a level head about all of it, and I think I've just overwhelmed myself with all kinds of different info from the different methods. I'm not good at reading my body's signs and I've yet to have a month where I've gotten a clear indication of when exactly I'm ovulating, but since I know that I haven't been pregnant (yet), I have an idea that so far I've not found the right combination.
I think I'm going to pay more attention to the temping this next month.
And, as everyone around me says, "relax" (Uggghh!)
