We have been working on the potty training thing since Friday, because she is kind of young, and we don't want to stress her, we have been putting her on the potty at specific times of day and keeping her in a diaper for the rest of the time. The first day going diaper free, stressed her out. If we tried to get her on the potty once she started peeing she would scream and then be afraid of the potty. The second day, doing the diaper and potty time thing she had fewer accidents, almost no wet diapers and she got a kick out of flushing the toilet and how excited we got when she peed on the toilet or potty.
Here is our problem, today has been a day of improvement, she is now trying to get onto the toilet (not the potty) all by herself but she doesn't do it until AFTER she has peed. Any suggestions as to how to get her to let me know she has to pee before she does? Or is this just a function of her young age?
Re: Question: I am sure it's been asked a zillion times but
I think probably the communication level may not be there yet for her. I would take it as a great sign that she is noticing when she goes, enough to get on the potty after the fact.
Perhaps you could try those thick training panties, and see what happens?
