I'm 12 weeks (so I think I can post here at 2nd tri??). I'm not showing yet. I assume of course that I just have to take this thing out, but last night I saw all these ads online for pregnancy rings, longer plastic bars where a woman could supposedly keep her piercing during the entire pregnancy. Just wondering if anyone has tried these?
It's hardly a big deal, I can take it out and I wouldn't want to risk infection or anything. But if I could leave it in and it was safe, I may want to.
TIA.
Re: Anyone with belly button rings?
I just took my belly ring out this weekend. I was tempted to order a pregnancy piercing but my belly is so dry and begining to pop out. I also found it got very irratated by my maternity clothes. I have taken it out before post lap and left it out for a year. It hurt a little to "repierce" but the pain went away within a few hours. I am going to "repierce" again post baby.
I say "repierce" since I had it for so long, the hole didn't really close but need to be stretched again to fit my ring of choice. I am sure that if I used the original ring, it would have fit just fine.
my BFF kept hers in the entire time. didnt switch bars or anything
I took mine out last time when my belly button got really shallow..... and it went back in just fine after I had DD. I still have it in right now.... but I may take it out in a few months.... just depends on how this one goes.
I recently bought a pregnancy belly button ring, it is longer and made out of a bendy plastic material. I am not sure why I made the decision to switch the normal on did not irrate me. I think it is all a personal preference and depends on what is comfortable for you. I have had my belly button pierced for years and with my pervious pregnancy I had to remove the ring when I had my csection done other than that it was fine throughout. Also you dont have to order the prego belly button ring online, I bought mine in the mall at one of those stands that sell body jewlery for 15 bucks.
With my pregnancy, I ended up being all belly, and NOTHING would fit in that piercing hole because my skin was stretched so tight.
