Mini-Cribs

Has anyone used one of these?  Did you end up wishing you'd just gone with regular crib?  We're not shopping yet, just looking at options.  I like the idea of saving space and some of the mini-cribs are still convertible.  Hoping to see what others think... TIA

Re: Mini-Cribs

  • I had the regular sized crib w/DS and in my opinion it was a waste of space. I am planning on having the baby sleep in my room for the 1st few months and will def be buying the mini crib.

  • we bought a fantastic crib at buyBuyBaby when we still lived in a shoebox in Manhattan. Its simple but beautiful. I dont remember the name but its the smallest one avaiable. I would not go for a mini crib.
  • We had the DaVinci Emily mini crib for DD, and by nine months she'd outgrown it and we had to buy a regular crib. It was beautiful and saved space, but not very practical for full time use. This time, we'll do a cosleeper in our room then move baby into the big crib.
  • We had the Graco PNP that had the newborn napper and the bassinett level which worked amazing for us for the first few months (even though the full size crib was completely assembled and ready for use, I just still wanted her in our room) and that worked well, and was handy for travel so that she was used to where she was.
  • Since I have a small frame, mini crib has really worked for me. I purchased the Kalani Mini crib from Ababy.com. It includes a mattress and can be converted into twin bed. I have no complaints with this crib.
