Should I give it a try?

DS is almost 21 months old.  He doesn't tell me when he's going, and he's not waking up dry (I know those are some signs).  But, if I ask him if he wants to go potty, he shakes his head yes.  I put him on the potty and he goes- pee and sometimes poo.  He's gone on the potty everyday for a week (about 2 times a day).  Should I give it a try?

He also doesn't want to wear underwear.  He's constantly trying to pull them off....

No he doesn't want to try the underwear.  Maybe I haven't hyped them up enough
