Anyone own a Munire convertible--need box spring?

This is a longshot, but I can't find info on this anywhere, including our crib instructions. We are converting DS's Munire Urban crib/toddler bed into a full-size bed soon and can't figure out if we need box springs or if we can just use a mattress. We were about to order a mattress and realized we weren't sure and our searches have turned up empty. DH thinks he'll know once he puts it together, but we want to have it all ready to go at that time so will need the mattress by then.

  • I would assume that since it is a full size bed, you will need a boxspring.

I haven't converted either of ours yet, but that would be my assumption.

  • Probably won't help in that it's not your specific crib, but at BRU I always see our convertible (Babi Italia) set up in it's full sized conversion and it does indeed have a box spring.
  • We bought the rails that go with it. To use it as a full size bed, of course you need a box spring.

  • Well, many full-sized or bigger beds don't require a box spring if they have slats. Our bed doesn't require a box spring, so that is why I asked. I do have the conversion kit, but the instructions weren't clear. Sorry if it is a dumb question! I'll probably just assume we need to get both the mattress and box spring.

  • Yes you need a box springs
  • I'm ready to do this conversion, too. I agree with you that the slats make it confusing regarding the box spring.  Did you end up buying one?
