When did you get your first postpartum period? Breastfeeding didn't work out (only lasted a few weeks), but I didn't think AF would be showing up this soon.
TMI warning--I had yellow postpartum discharge one day, then dark spotting, and now I think AF is here. The red/dark postpartum discharge stopped three weeks ago and I moved on to the yellow stuff for the past three weeks.
Normal? Weird? Probably not my period?
It's Sunday night, and I wouldn't call a doctor over this even if it were business hours during the week. So, I'm open to peanut gallery comments from internet strangers.
Re: How long for PP period? (TMI warning)
Thanks for the response. The board is pretty dead right now, so this probably wasn't the best time to post.
I had planned to breastfeed and figured it would be months (had that worked out). Sigh. I guess my period is back.
I have a related question, but I'll wait to ask that one for a day when the board is more active.
Yep. It's natures way of prepping you for your next baby. Unfortunately, Mother Nature incorrectly assumes that if you don't have a baby on your boobie, you must be ready for the next one!
Go ahead and ask your related question, people will answer when they get back Tuesday
I'm trying to work up the courage to ask the related question. By that, I mean I am trying to decide if I'd just rather not know the answer to the question.
The yellow stuff was what the brownish discharge morphed into a few weeks ago. By yellow, I mean sort of brownish yellow. I'm not worried about it--I've read in a number of places that it is normal for the lochia to be yellowish for the last few weeks. At my PP check, I was still having it. My doctor did a pelvic exam and said everything looked good.
I just thought there would be some break in flow between lochia and postpartum period.
And thanks for all the answers! I guess this is the return of my period.
Let the not preventing for baby #2 commence! (And before anyone thinks DH and I are completely nuts--we tried for almost 3 years for this baby and spent many thousands of dollars on fertility treatments that were emotionally difficult, painful, and time consuming. So, we're okay with 2 under 2 or even 2 under 1.)
I know quite a few SAIF gals with a BOGO baby! You just never know what your body is capable of =0
