TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

Like ripping off the bandaid instead of peeling it slowly.

Went to shower earlier today. Overheard a conversation that could possibly have made my head explode, but that's not the point of this post. Decided to go by EDD-sharing friend's house to take her son's 1st bday present to them. Get all this baby stuff out of the way all at once.

A reminder on EDD-sharing friend: we shared my first EDD, then I hosted her shower 2 weeks after my second miscarriage, then I got her birth announcement in the mail the day I stayed home from work with the heavy bleeding and cramping from miscarriage #3. This kid haunts me. HOWEVER - she is the greatest friend an infertile or hab ab'er could ask for. Her sister is going through IF so she was already kind of in the know. So even we've had the random misfortune of her being a reminder to me at every turn, that's just chance, and she really is the model of perfection for how to maintain a normal friendship with your ovarially fvcked up friends.

But her baby is going through a little bit of stranger anxiety right now. But he took to me like a fish to water. This was after I spent half the baby shower in the kids' room playing with the kids that were there, and was name honorary BFF of the day by an 8 year old girl. It's just wrong. I emit some sort of noise or scent only perceptible to kids, that essentially sends them the message "I come in peace. You love me. You don't know why, but you do." Shouldn't my worthless eggs be getting that message too?? I mean, come on now. I'm a kid magnet. If only I were a viable fetus magnet, too....

ETA: not that I'm a stranger to her baby, that's just what they call it. The "you're not my mommy or daddy!" phase.

  • You are an awesome friend.

You know my mother always told me when children are drawn to you like a magnet it is a sign you are pg or soon to be pg because kids "sens" it.  I have to say I did experience this with my first pg.

Just a little food for thought and hoping this is a good sign.
