Hello ladies!!
I am back home after giving birth unexpectedly to my twins boys on 08/31 at 35.6wks....my scheduled c-section date was 09/14. I was SO hoping to keep them cooking longer, but I truly cannot complain about almost 36wks.
I was having very sporadic contractions all of last week and Sunday night they started getting closer and stronger. I called up the doc on Monday who admitted me to the hospital for testing. The hospital kept me overnight for observations as the contrax were getting closer and closer. By Tuesday morning, my contrax were 2 minutes apart and after having not eaten for 44hours and having continous contrax for about 18 hours, they decided to take the little ones out.
Joshua Scott was born at 10:22am and weighed in at 5.3lbs:
Jonathan Matthew was born at 10:23am and weighed in at 6.2lbs:
They are just adorable and look just like their father.
They were both having a little respiratory distress, so they took them both to the NICU for some oxygen. They were off the oxygen within 48hrs and although they are still in the NICU as I write this, they are in a "safer zone" and are starting to eat on their own. They are also starting to be slowly weaned off the IV fluids. I have been visiting them every day to provide breastmilk and really hope to bring them home soon. It is just heartwrenching not having them here with me, but I know they are well being taken care of.
This surgery was much harder on my body than my first section so the healing is much more painful and slower. I will post a much more detailed birth story later ....
XOXO,
Bea
