Travelling to NOLA, needs tips

Hi there.  I'll be visitng NOLA in Oct with our 7 month old daughter.  Any suggestions for places to take her?  We'll be staying in the Central Business District.  We haven't booked our hotel but are looking at the Best Western on St Christopher, the Sheraton and the St James. 

Any tips would be much appreciated!

the children's museum has a nice toddler area for her age.

Also the zoo, aquarium and insectarium would be fun!

audubon park is always good too, a streetcar ride down there would be interesting for her.

October is a great time of year to visit! You will be able to do a lot of outside stuff without sweating to death. I would definitely check out City Park. The Storyland is a lot of fun for LOs and they have a great carousel as well. ditto the pps suggestions of the Children's Musuem and the Zoo. If you are here on a Sunday some of my favorite outside locations for brunch are Dante's Kitchen and Martinique's. Both have great outside seating and are LO friendly.

The Hampton Inn Convention Center is really nice and affordable.  Also I'm not sure what part of October you will be here, but here a few fun October activities (some are not walking distance from hotel area):
