DD starts MDO tues/thurst 9-2 in 3 days. Today her potty training finally "clicked" and she only had one accident all day.
I don't know what to do about MDO! I know they will do what they can, but they won't be there to hear her "ask" every time. She will say it out loud, but not necessarily come find you to tell you.
I guess Pull ups (which we don't use normally, except for nighttime), and hope for the best?? I don't want them to be mopping pee up all day from the very newly trained 2 year old...
Re: Newly PT and MDO
When we were PTing there was one day we had to go to a friend's house and i worried about him peeing on her floor- i put pullups on OVER his underwear... just to catch the mess... but kept undies on him so he'd feel the wetness.
It worked- the one time he had to go he went in the undies/pullup and told me right away - which he would not have done with just the pullup.... yet, there was no mess to clean up (just needed new undies/pullup)
You need to talk to them to see what they do. Obviously they've dealt with this before!
At DD's school they do not allow pullups. A child is either in diapers (disposable or cloth) or they are in underwear. Seems messy to me, but they've been doing this for 30 years and PTd more kids than I'll ever see, so I went with it.
When DD was newly PTd (22mo), she had a teacher that she wouldn't talk to. The teacher wouldn't agree to DD wearing underwear to school. (Because this was the under 2 room, there were no children's toilets so it was a bigger deal than if she'd been in an older classroom). After about a month of being in panties at home and in a diaper at school, she got a new teacher who DD liked and would talk to. The new teacher agreed to DD wearing underwear and I had to bring in a potty chair for her to use (since there was no bathroom for her). Fortunately being in diapers 3 days a week did not seem to set DD back and she did fine in panties at home and diapers at school.
When she started wearing underwear to school, it was on a trial basis and while they did not expect her to be accident free, if she had too many accidents then they would put her back in diapers. I have no idea how many is too many, she didn't have any during her two week trial and after that she only had 3-4 over the next several months. They always had her sit on the potty before nap and before going outside or whenever they thought she'd gone too long so it wasn't completely up to DD telling them.
