OMG, just noticed the "Connect with Pampers" board that is now available. Boo.
But yay for the Cloth Diapering Board (I am sure the EFF ladies will appreciate that one), Natural Birth Board, Pre-School and School-Aged Children Boards. Neat!
what's funny is that the CD board used to just be called "Diapering" - and it was sponsored by Pampers. you can imagine the outrage. So they turned that into CD, and sprung up this new board. The poor Pampers woman whose job it is to respond to questions the board - I would hate to be her. I can certainly see both sides of the argument (why there should/shouldn't be a pampers board), but it's a train wreck.
the natural birth board is pretty neat - i just found it the other day, didn't realize it was new. and didn't know about the other ones. sigh, i don't have time to read them all!!
I don't see a problem with having a board for disposable diapers (although I think the learning curve is pretty low and always found the questions about how to use them on 0-3 months mildly hilarious - CD questions I get because there are a lot of different kinds and ways to use them, but 'sposies are kind of a lowest-common-denominator deal, you know?), but it's amusing that it's solely for Pampers.
And looking at the questions there, yeah...somehow I don't think that's how Pampers thought this was going to turn out.
My money is on it either dying out slowly as people get bored, or being quietly removed one day if Pampers decide it isn't quite the stroke of advertising genius that they thought it was...
Is Pampers an official sponsor of TB or something? Cuz that board name sorta feels like a shameless advertising plug to me =P
Not as far as I know - I think I've seen Huggies ads on TB as well? But yeah, I'd assume they probably forked over a hefty sum for the privilege of having a board of their own...
