Dallas-Fort Worth Babies

I am sad that it has come to this but....

Does anyone know of a good place that is hiring? My husband has been in and out of work for 5 months now. He has all types of experience, animal care, Auto work, carpentry and retail. This is super embarrassing but we are desperate to get him a good job.

  • Where are ya'll located?  Where would he prefer to find a job at?  Or does that really matter?

  • Not sure where you are but I went to deposit a check today at Chase Bank on 114 and 377 and they had a "Hiring" sign on the door.
  • My company has a class starting usually once a month. It's a call center in Irving. If he's interested, PM me.
  • We are in Dallas/Richardson/Plano. Thank you guys for the support.

I'll ask my husband.  We're in Plano.

  • Thank you so much. I am so embarrassed but he asked me to post so I did.
  • Nothing to be embarrassed about.  At least you guys are willing to ask for help looking for a job.  A lot of people aren't willing to do that.

We have some really great friends who have 4 children.  The husband had a great job and then out of left field he was let go for honest-to-God no reason.  He sent out emails and put up requests on FB asking people to put their feelers out for companies hiring.  After job hunting for 3 months, applying to 150 jobs and going on 30 interviews (some he had to fly out of state for), he finally got a job.  Granted they have to move to Georgia in order for him to accept the position, but it's what they have to do to provide for their family.  It's a real tough job market out there and there are tons of people fighting for only one job in most cases.  Our friend has a degree in criminology and law enforcement, was previously a police officer who took a higher paying job as head of loss prevention for a major company.  Even with all of that experience it took him a lot of leg work and determination to finally get an offer.

Good luck to you and your husband.  If I come across anything or my husband does I'll be sure to post it here!

Sounds like that's in Roanoke, where I live. I'll have to go check it out. I lost my teaching job and DH was just able to get a part time job at Target which is definitely not enough to support us and DS. Good luck to OP on the job hunt. After applying for over 200 positions this summer and still coming up empty, I'm losing faith and am desperate, too.
