The ultimate crib sheet didn't work for me. I wanted to use the breathable bumpers and couldn't figure out how to get both on the crib. I used the "sheet savers" instead with a mattress pad and had no issues.
I know you asked this to those who are using them, but I thought I wouldt throw out there that we haven't had a use for one at all. We change crib sheets every Saturday morning, and rarely have to do it more often. When we do, it's usually because of spit up.
ETA: The sheets go right on the mattress. No extra pad.
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

I do, but probably more because I've always used mattress pads on mattresses as opposed to really "needing" one. I have a mattress pad, fitted sheet, than UCS. Love my UCS! They are so much easier to change than fitted sheets. I have them on my Ikea Gulliver cribs with the mesh bumpers with no problems.

Yep, the UCS didn't work on our crib. We used to have a mattress pad, but then I put it in the dryer and accidentally melted it. I didn't replace it right away and it was NBD, so no more pad.
Had one b/c friends raved abotu it & it is still in the closet for a few reasons, mainly 1- didn't work on our crib slats and 2- I'm too short & couldn't actually reach across to the back side of the crib (convertible) to hook the snaps on, I wouldve had to pull the crib out from the wall, making the whole thing a huge PITA and reguar sheet changing much easier. When you drop the mattress to the low position, then you'd definitely have to pull the crib out to get to the back side I would think.?
Other reason- my kids never had blowouts and rarely even leaked out of the diaper. We use a mattress pad so the few leakage times & pukes in the crib have been no biggie.

I love mine - the boys spit up quite a bit so if I didn't have them, I would be changing sheets pretty much everyday.
4 Fresh IVF cycles + 1 FET where embies didn't survive the thaw = 2 perfect little men!
