Sorry, but I have an honest question: Are you thinking about this for a boy or a girl?
The reason I ask is b/c in my experience, Lyndon is a boy name and Mae is a girl name. So I'm just a bit confused.
If you are using Lyndon Mae for a girl, I think it looks like you are replacing the O in London with an unnecessary Y to make it look more feminine. (I've seen plenty of Londyns for this reason, but never a Lyndon). I realize that's not what you are doing, but if it looks that way to me, I'm guessing others will think that way as well.
If you are using Lyndon Mae for a boy, I like the first name, but I would reconsider the middle name. Having a feminine name or middle name is great cause for boys to tease other boys in our society.
Lynden is a town in WA State, so that's what I think of immediately. Thanks to the Y it looks made up...BUT, our former president sported the name Lyndon...
I would never have looked at this name and assumed you meant it to be pronounces "lin-don." I thought at first sight that it was a cutesy spelling of London with a y.
I thought of Lyndon Station, WI. I think my brother also had a band of the same name at one point. It did strike me as more of a boys name right off the bat, though.
Re: WDYT about...
What about Mae Lynn? Or Mae Lyndon? (I know those weren't options...)
I prefer Lyndon, as far as the spelling goes. But really, Mae is a much prettier, more feminine name.
sorry I don't like it.
ETA: I like PPs suggestion of Mae Lyndon. Mae is nice.

On a girl though...no, not feeling it. I would assume it's a cre8ive version of London.

I am not a fan. I would think it was a man's name if someone mentioned it to me. And not a good man's name at that.
Otherwise, I love Mae. It's one of my names, if only my husband would agree to it.
