My son is now 10 years old, and for the first 8 years of his life he had Dr. Rhada Pathak of Main Street Pediatrics in Towson, MD. She was actually MY pediatrician! Needless to say I loved her and was very comfortable at that practice. Sadly she passed away in 2008 so I had to find another ped for my son. I chose the Child and Teen Wellness Center in Owings Mills, but, for many reasons, I am not crazy about this practice.
Now I am pregnant again and I'd like to find a good practice which will be good with both adolescents and newborns. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am really looking for a Top Doc! My son is dyslexic so a doctor who is familiar with learning differences would be very helpful because the Doc. is such an important part of the whole treatment plan with LD's.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions and please feel free to PM me
Re: Looking for a Pediatrician in Owings Mills/Pikesville or Baltimore
We go to Dr. Lois Sullivan at St. Joes. She's 1 of 3 (the practice is Drs. Gouel & Blotny PA). She's been awesome! She's the youngest doc there (40's I guess) & works p/t because she has kids at home & she doesn't want her job to take her away from being a mom (which I totally respect & think is great that she can do that).
My 13y/o niece goes to her & has since she started there, loves her.
My 10y/o & 13y/o nephews go to Dr. Krystyna Blotny & both really like her (the 13y/o was asked if he wanted to switch to Gouel, a male, & he said no, he really likes Blotny).

We were recommended by my OB's office staff and strangers to Maryland Pediatric Group, specifically Dr. LaRosa. They are off Greenspring and Falls I think.

Francesca Pearl is here! Josephine Hope is almost 3!
Thank you all so much for the recs. Any others? I am really going to do my homework this time.
Snoopy, is the MD Ped. Group in the shopping center behind/above the Post Office? That would be super convenient for us, as I am strongly considering St. Paul's School for my son next year.
Who do you see at Child and Teen? Can I ask the reasons you don't like the practice - you can PM me if you would rather.
We see Dr. Levy and we love him!
Happy Birthday, little man. We love you so much!
My favorite money saving tip: I've earned more than $300 in gift cards (Amazon, Starbucks, Southwest!) using SwagBucks for internet searching - and you can too! It's FREE and EASY!
I have heard great things about Maryland Pediatric Group as well so I called them to find out if anyone was accepting new patients. They only have one doctor accepting new patients, Dr. Garza, and she is new to the practice. I have a prenatal consultation scheduled with her on Nov. 2.

I sent you a PM.
Robyn,
Did you still like the practice at Main Street? We are shopping around and this is on my potentials list
Hi so sorry for the delay. I thought if you were 'watching a thread' it meant that you would get a notification when replies were posted.
Anyway, I have nothing bad to say about Main Street Pediatrics as my brother and I were patients there as well and when we became parents we sent our kids there. But once Dr. Pathak passed away suddenly in 2008, I just thought I'd seek out a practice I had chosen on my own. Again, I could have stayed there. Nothing bad to say about ANYONE! I have heard great things about Dr. Malaikal (spelling?) who saw my son occasionally for sick visits i
