Got insulin pump on Tuesday..

It is an Anamis One Touch Ping.  I am using U-500 regular insulin in it because I was requiring about 260 units of U-100  Humalog and Lantus per day.  So far I like it a lot.  I was just a bit nervous Tuesday night.  My sugars kept going up and up and finally at 1:30 in the morning I changed sites and re-bolused and everything was fine.

The amusing thing is my four year old daughter doesn't like it because she liked giving me my insulin injections.  I would draw them up and put the needle in and let her push the plunger.  Now she says I have a robot brain controlling my sugar.

  • I have the Animas Ping and LOVE it!!  I was very hesitant about going on a pump, but I am so glad that I did!  I'm sure you will be glad that you made the switch!
