TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

Back From RE

I have a lot of follies because of my  PCOS, but they aren't ready yet, so I'll probably have to go back tomorrow, marking four mornings out of five that I've been there this week.  Several are big so I'm praying they don't get overstimulated.  I am aching!  It feels so swollen.

I had mentioned to my RE that I had started doing an "exercise boot camp" at school and she said to quit, that it's not a good idea right now!  I'm kind of tickled, because I'll take any excuse not to exercise!  Embarrassed

Re: Back From RE

  • I'm sorry about the aching. And I was told by my RE that while I was stimming not to do any high impact stuff because it could cause torsion of the follicle- causing a water balloon effect- not a pretty picture so I took that as an excuse to just walk for my exercise.

  • Yep.

My nurse took away my yoga which I'm actually a little bummed about. I could probably do it for another week but DH asked me to stay on the (very) safe side and stop.

I told my yoga instructor and she suggested maybe a restorative-type class with no twists or inversions... uh, thanks but if I want to relax I'll just go get a free (insurance covers it) massage vs. spending money for yoga.

I'm still doing walking but my nurse said I have to be able to carry on a normal conversation.

  • Good luck tomorrow!

  • That's great, about the follies and the exercise!!
  • Wishing you the best of luck.  I too was told no exercising.
  • Sending you lots of luck. I always felt better the day after my retrieval. Hope you don't have to deal with overstimulation. I'm always watched for it in my cycles. I had a minor case of it my second ivf. My RE always has me follow a special diet to help prevent it, gives me meds and I have to monitor my intake and outtake of liquids.

Really, your insurance covers massage therapy??  I really really really need this...

OP- GL!  I was just thinking about the whole exercise / treatment issue.  I have been really sore too (HSG, u/s, very achy, crampy) and during AF it always helps me to be active, but I don't think its a good idea right now...

Sorry about the multiple trips to the OB.  I had 4 in one week once and it really sucked.  Sounds like things are still going well though.  Hope you get a dominate or two soon!
