Snarky and T-TTC

Why do I always do this

DH invited some friends over for the game tonight.  He wanted me to make chicken wings. OK fine.  Well then i decided thats not enough and decided I needed to make pigs in a blanket, cheese dip, pizza rolls, and cake balls.  Now I will be stuck in the kitchen all day. (But I am excited to eat!)

Re: Why do I always do this

  • I do that every single time we have people over.

I truly believe it is that whole southern hospitality thing that is ingrained in us from the beginning- my mother would rather die than think someone left her house hungry.

Fuuck TTC - I'm moving on.

  • I think you are right Mandy.  Our mother's have taught us that we are supposed to make enough food for an army just in case someone is extra hungry.  Its crazy.  My mom is the queen of over cooking.

  • Ditto. I always feel the need to take it over the top when I have guests. I used to be worse than I am, but only because I stopped inviting people over.

  • I do the same thing. Having people over Saturday for the games and I have to have multiple things to eat. I haven't figured out what I want to make yet though. I'm procrastinating. Those cake balls sounds intriguing. How do you make those?

  • Cake balls =

bake a cake mix, crumble it up, mix in a can of frosting, roll it into balls and dip in melted chocolate.

  • I am not southern, yet I am incapable of making a reasonable amount of food for when we have guests. We always have way, way too much because I come up with a menu and just keep on adding dishes to add optionality for the guests in case they don't like this or that. Before I know it, it has spun out of control.
