PT in public- help needed!

Help!!!! We are new at this whole thing...

Went to the mall today, DD hadn't gone in 2.5 hours. Dry when we got there. I brought her potty and she sat for 20 minutes before we went in. Nothing. Took her into the regular bathroom, major meltdown. No go. Shopped a but, then back to the car potty. Nothing. Finally, after being dry FOUR hours, she peed in her Pull Up. Then a little poop later. 

What do you do when you are out??? Things aren't looking good for public restrooms here...

We are 2 days in and I cant even imagine leaving at this point! My husband is trying to convince me to come to his work for lunch Friday (40 min away) and I am scared out of my mind! Think its better to be consistent and stick with underwear even in public but I think my DD is going to freak out about public restrooms too. When shes goes here it usually takes a couple times of her on potty and then off running around grabbing herself before she eventually goes in the potty. How will this work in public?? This whole thing is stressful and mentally/physically draining!

Texas- DD acts the same way at home. I guess it was just too much to expect anything from her. I really thought bringing her potty in the car would help, but no. I think the timing was just off.

I think I will just give it a few more days til I try any more long outings. What is funny is that i took her to the gym with me, and she stayed dry the whole time! Course that was only about 1.5 hour all together, travel included. 

If you want to go to lunch with DH, I would try your darndest to get her to pee before you go. Then bring the potty in the car. Plan on extra time. We spent about an hour total on her potty yesterday at the mall! Just hope for the best. Accidents are inevitable in this phase. 

And I agree, I think that I am just going to stick to panties (the thick ones when we're out!) for the duration.

We read a book (cant remember the name something like Toddler Potty Stories) DD knows we go potty before we leave the house and then as soon as we come home. Some times she tries to fight us on it but almost always it happens. She doesnt seem to mind using restrooms out but prefers her home potty. I try and find a quiet less distracting potty. Also we sort of 'bribed' DD (we wont for ever but she is still learning). If you go potty we can play on the playground(rest area was where we had issues). She almost always went!
