Re: girl name clicky

  • Lorelei Kate is my favorite, Lillian May, gets second place, and Kenley is nothing compared to those other two! Thumbs down on Kenley!

  • Lillian Mae is lovely. Lorelei is OK, but I don't really like it with Kate. I don't like Kenley -- certainly not the worst I've heard but I prefer the more classic feel of your other names. What about Lorelei Ann?
  • I love Lorelei (though I would spell it Lorelai, personally). This would have been baby #2's name, if he'd been a girl.

Why, because of the Gilmore Girls? Lorelei is the traditional spelling.

  • I voted for Lorelei  :)  very nice!!  But I don't think I like mn Kate with it.

  • My daughter's name is Lorelai, and I'm in love with the name! We get compliments on it all the time. I also like that many people tell me they've never heard of it, because I grew up with a tragically common name and hated it.
I chose to spell it that way because when I was still pregnant and people asked what name we chose, they'd compare the name to pronunciation "Lora-lee" which I didn't like at all. So I switched the "e" to an "a" to hopefully avoid that pronunciation.

Yup, exactly. To me, "Lorelai" is the only spelling I know. So, while traditional, Lorelei looks odd to me.
