Security Blanket? - Poll

My husband and I are having a discussion about security blankets, and have two completely different opinions.  So I was wondering how many plan to definitely give or not give a security blanket for sleeping, and maybe why you feel that way.

My 2 1/2yo daughter has one.  I gave her a blanket at around a year and it just became her security blanket for sleeping.  It was not my intention, but I don't mind at all that it happened.  I'll start using a blanket with my son when he is around a year and, if he develops the same attachment, so be it.

My 2 and 3 year old both have one, as well. It's the blankets we brought them home from the hospital with. They both sleep with their blankets, but they know that the blankets stay home if we go out or when they go to school. I don't mind them having an attachment to them. My little guy has both a blanket and a stuffed monkey.
