December 2010 Moms

quick question

I havent felt lo move today that i know of, two days ago she was everywhere and today nothing. Also have been feeling pressure in my stomach and my left side of my stomach is really hard and not my right, but thats probably because she loves my left side. Should i be concerned? I hate the long waits between doc appts. I worry alot since willows loss, does anyone know what caused that and if she was having any symotoms or complications? And is anyone experiencing not feeling movement somedays? ugh, im stressing.

Re: quick question

  • I wouldn't be too concerned unless you go much more than a day or two without feeling her. You can also drink some cold sprite or juice and lay down on your side. That usually gets them moving.

If you are too terribly worried, put in a call to your doctor. They are usually very understanding of 1st time mamas and their concerns. I do not know the details of what happened to Willow and Dylan.

I hope your LO gets to moving soon! :))

  • Ditto what PPs said. But also, LO is starting a big growth spurt around that time, from what I understand, and is sleeping around 14 hours a day. I know last week my little boy seemed much more lethargic than usual, not moving around for long stretches and only squirming when he did move instead of real big kicks. Over the weekend we went back to normal and now he's been kicking up a storm all afternoon.

I hope your LO gives you a nice big reassuring kick soon.

  • I read somewhere (not sure if it was on here or in a book) that LO's have good days and bad days just like we do.  Some days are great - they are in a happy mood and are just super energetic, other days they are tired and just chillax in their momma.  Like PP said, unless it goes for more than 2 or 3 days then don't worry too much about it.  My LO goes crazy when I drink chocolate milk, so when he is having a non-movement day, I would have a cup of that just so I can feel him kicking (even for a few moments). So try something sugary, and just try and relax!
  • I have heard that most OBs do kick counts from 28 weeks on, but mine recommends them from 26 weeks on. The guidance I got is to eat/drink something sweet and lay down for 2 hours. If you do not have five movements in the 2 hours, call L&D. I would recommend this.
