So this weekend, DD and her friend did a great craft.  I used blue cardstock and glued on some sandpaper to serve as the sand.  Then I gave the girls some bits of green tissue paper (to serve as seaweed -- green rickrack would do the same), buttons (pearls or bubbles), small shells and lots of various stickers and let them make their own seascapes.  You could do the same for a beach scene. 

Anyway, they turned out really cute and the girls had a blast with all of the textures so thought I would share the idea.
