Pack and Play question

I am contemplating if I should buy just one Travel Pack and Play and use it all the time or buy the Travel system one as well as the regular one with bassinet and changing table?

We live in a two storey house, so I'm thinking I could put the travel one upstairs and the regular downstairs.

How useful are the pack and play that you have? Would you recommend getting one or two? We're on a tight budget, I'm thinking of getting it used if I had to get two.

Thanks for your help!

Re: Pack and Play question

  • We have a regular sized PNP.  My mom has a travel size PNP that DD used to sleep in but she is too long for it now.   The travel size PNP are nice when they are really little but they grow out of them quickly.  The regular size PNP you will be about to use for a year or two.

  • We love our PNP! We used it as a bassinet in our room for while and now it will be for play in the living room (when the dog is inside) and for travel. Our friends have a 17 month old and when they come over for dinner/movie night they bring it and set it up in our spare bedroom so that he can go to bed and they don't have to rush home. They keep theirs in the car and are ready for nap time anywhere they may be!
  • We have one full size and two travel (given to us by friends). One travel one is at MIL's house and the other in my closet. I only used the full size one for 2.5 months before switching DD to her crib. It took up more space than needed and I never felt the changing table attached was strong enough to change her on it plus the diaper champ was in the nursery, so I just changed in her there. In retrospect, I would have been fine with one travel one.

  • We got the Graco PnP in Pippin pattern, and it was GREAT. No frills, bells or whistles, no changing table/napper things and it was only 70 bucks. We used the bassinet in it for about 3.5 months and now she's in her crib. I highly recommend just getting a bare bones one!
