Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Sleep Advice

I think I'm in need of some sleep advice.  My DD started sleeping through the night at 11 weeks, but it only lasted 2 weeks (she is now 4 months). Not sure what happened, but she hasn't since.  However, since then I don't feed her in the middle of the night.  She goes to bed around 7:30pm and tends to wake up between 12am & 3am and basically just "talks", sometimes cries, but not in a really upset way. She's usually content when I give her her paci, until she spits it out and just wants it back again!  She is still in her bassinet in our room.  In the past month she has had a cold & ear infection and still seems to be congested.  I'm not sure if that is related?

I'm not really sure what to do? Or do I just wait it out?

Re: Sleep Advice

  • since she is just talking or fussing can you leave her and see if she can put herself back to sleep?
  • Loading the player...
  • Kinda tried that last night.  She just kept talking and eventually got kind of cranky until I picked her up & put her in our bed.
  • I'm having similar problems..my previously STTN daughter is so active and alert now - kicking, flailing, talking, rolling over and she doesn't settle down like she used to and wakes up constantly at night and does micronaps during the day - my pediatrician says it could be a number of things - her activeness/interest in the world, growth spurt, teething, rebuilding my milk supply since I'm gone during the day, etc. I think it's supposed to be just a phase though.

  • Glad to hear I'm not the only one and I hope its just a phase too!  If the phase could just end sometime soon, that would be nice.  I could use a little more sleep.

btw - sent you a PM too.
