how long does it take for a tooth to surface?

I can see the white of LO's tooth under the gum.  How long will it take to break through the skin?

    It can take a while!  I started seeing evidence of DS's bottom 2 teeth a couple weeks ago.

    It took 3 months for my DD's first teeth to break through after she started "teething."
