Warning - here is my story (LONG). I just know how worried everyone is at this stage and don't want to freak anyone else out.
Like I said my appt last Monday seemed normal. I mentioned to the doc that I would on rare occasions have some mild menstural like cramps in my lower abdomen. They were very uncommon and sporatic. She said it was simply the weight of my pregnancy on my abdomen. She wasn't concerend since my stomach wasn't rock hard and they were localized to one place.
Tuesday after lunch I started to have the mild pains again. They would only last a few seconds and weren't frequent. But were occuring more than usual. I also had the most tiny line of blood a couple of times when I wiped. I researched and was beginning to wonder if I had BH or a UTI. Decided if it continued I'd call the doctor. I was at work the whole time and it wasn't stopping my abilitiy to work.
I left work and went for a hair appt. Before I left I had no bleeding and still just some minor pain. 20 minutes later when I got to the hair dresser I went to the restroom and had a huge amount of blood and the pain was more moderate. I called the on-call doc and convinced her something wasn't right. She sent me to L&D. Luckily my DH works right across the street from the hopsital so he met me there.
I checked in at 6PM. They found Amber's heartbeat fairly quickly and that relaxed me. Shortly after I arrived I started having sever contractions (very loud screaming on my part). They would only last seconds but were just minutes apart. They started running tests for UTI and did an U/S. After a little while I got Magnesium Sulfate to slow the contractions. That worked for about 15 mimutes, then the contractions came back with a vengenace.
Shortly there after I was coming down from one major contraction when all of a sudden my water broke. The nurse went to check for dialation and found my baby girl's feet coming out. They rushed me to do the emergecny C-section. I was checked in to the hospital at 6:00 PM and had my girl at 9:34PM. My blood pressure stayed normal the entire time and I had absolutley no other indicators something was going wrong. I only had a couple of contractions that ever involved my entire stomach, they were all located low.
I hope I have not scared anyone but do want to mention that if you have a doubt even small - don't worry about being annoying to the doctor!
Thank you all again for your prayers and support! I will try and keep you all updated. I am going to the hospital now to visit my precious gift!
Re: My Scary Story - Warning - (Long)
Sounds so scary - but glad you and your little girl are doing well..............I will keep you in my thoughts and hope that your little one thrives!
Sarah
I have a follow up with the doctor tomorrow so I'm hoping they can have some idea by then what happened. They still weren't sure in the hopsital.
Generally Nicu babies are there until their original due date. So I won't be taking here home until sometime in December.
Thank you all again for the support. It's very touching! I hope my story helps!
