newbie, can i get a chart stalk?

 Edit:  Sorry, I was trying to post from my phone because my laptop is not working very well at the moment.  I think I finally fixed my ticker and I am finallt able to most more than 3 letters .  I have been lurking for awhile and have already learned from reading some of the posts on here!

A little introduction, my DH and I have a beautiful daughter and we are hoping to add more children to our family.  We have been officially TTC since the beginning of May, but not really charting seriously until the last few weeks.  My last cycle was pretty crazy, my period lasted for 16 days, most of which were heavy bleeding days and I have never had a period last for more than 6 days, and usually 3 days are heavy bleeding and the rest are light or spotting (though I hadn't had a period in some time before May because I had been BFing and had an IUD.)  I had randomly taken an HPT in the previous cycle that came up positive (it was a digital test) but 8 consecutive tests all came up completely negative.  So I was fairly confident it was a false positive, especially since I read a report that the Clear Blue Easy digital test have had complaint of false positives.  But the heavy period does make me wonder.  My doctor didn't seem to think it was a m/c though because of how many negative HPTs I had following that one positive.

I am only 7 dpo right now but I have already had 2 temps drop below my cover line (and I had to discard a third because I think I fell asleep and the thermometer fell from my mouth because the temp was ridiculously low, in the 95's and by the time I got up later that morning I had already been moving the mattress around to find the thermometer and so didn;t bother retemping.)  Is it possible that I am having low progesterone issues right now that are causing the temp drop?  What else could have caused the double drop?  I was hopeful after the first dip because it rebounded up pretty far the next morning, but this morning the temp dropped pretty low again.  I am still new to charting so any info or opinions would be helpful!!

I think it's too soon to worry about your temps dropping below the coverline.  You only have one really low temp so far, so I'd say wait and see what happens in the next few days.  It may go back up. 

What would concern me more is the 16 days of heavy bleeding...if your doctor didn't think it was a m/c, did he have another explanation?  Also, false positives are very rare.  They are most common on blue dye tests.  I have not heard about false positives on digitals.
