What is the purpose of the grippers on the bottom of socks?

for newborn through at least 6 months? I never really understood why they would have the grippers on socks for babies so young.

My guess is the for the same reason clothes that size have pockets...

I've wondered this myself.  I think maybe they just do it to drive people like you and me crazy wondering why they do that.

LOL. Exactly!

I will say that DD LOVES standing, with our help of course.  So maybe they can be useful?  Although I don't really notice the difference.

The grips on the bottom of LO's socks help her in her exersaucer...maybe for that and if you use a walker?? Good question. LOL about the pockets answer, I LOVE the pockets on their clothes lol
