DH and I are having trouble picking a boy's name. Is Tucker a bad idea? I like it but DH says he's afraid that kids will make fun of him and rhyme it with a certain swear word. Thoughts???

I don't like it, sorry. Is it your maiden name or something? If it is family name then I could see using it. Random last names as first names without any family signifigance just seem kind of weird to me.
If not for the unfortunate NN, it would be cute. However, I know a grown man named Tucker, and I always laugh a little. It sounds like a childhood nickname that a guy should outgrow... like "Scooter" or "Tiger." (Ha)
A girl I went to hs with named her son this about a year ago. When I first heard that she was planning on it, I could only think of the swear word. Now, I think of the adorable boy.

My first thought was actually Tucker Max, who wrote "I hope they Serve Beer in Hell". It is by far the funniest thing I've ever read but he is the worst man on the face of the earth. Treats women as sport. But since I never slept with him, funny!! His new book "A$$holes Finish First" is coming out soon and I plan to buy it but because of him I could never do Tucker. I'd rather do Spencer.

Yeah, I agree.
And sure, kids can find an unfortunate nickname for any name, but if it's an offensive nickname that EVERYONE thinks of, that is much worse (and will get old much faster) than random nicknames here and there.

I may be in the minority here, but I really like Tucker.
Who cares what it rhymes with? Kids will find some unfortunate nickname for any name if they want...

I could see this happening a lot... It's just too easy.
