Anyone cramping?

I am 5 weeks today.  I have been cramping on and off for the past few days. It ranges from mild period like cramps, to burning/pulling on the either side.

Anyone else experiencing this?

No bleeding, but I wouldn't be bleeding because I am on progesterone.  The evil part of progesterone is that it will prevent me from bleeding no matter what happens... which has me worried that I won't even know it if something goes bad.

Oh, and I am VERY bloated.  lol

Re: Anyone cramping?

  • I would say I have mild cramping. Nothing too painful and not bloated. No spotting either.

Had I not tested, I wouldn't really know I am KU.

  • I've been cramping on and off too and I am also on progesterone too.  Cramping is pretty normal at this stage.  Interesting, I didn't know progesterone prevents bleeding.  I'll have to ask my doctor about this at my next visit.  He basically said that if there is a genetic problem, I will m/c regardless and progesterone won't help but as he believes that my progesterone levels make it difficult for me a sustain a pregnancy until the placenta is formed that progesterone can be effective in this case.

Thank you!  With all these views and no replies, I was starting to panic.  LOL  I'm sure it is normal, but I would feel better if I knew I wasn't the only one.  =)

Yes, progesterone will not prevent a miscarriage due to genetic issues.  It can, however, prevent you from bleeding.  Low progesterone can cause a miscarriage, however, which is why some women can benefit by taking it.  Once the placenta is formed, it will produce the progesterone and estrogen that you need and you won't need the supplementation.  GL!

  • I too am having cramping.  Nothing too bad, but irritating in that it worries me a little.  I am also bloaty - feel like I usually do right before my period and my pants are all a little snug.

  • I also have been cramping. It kind of scared me because I had NO cramping, NO spotting with DD. I came home from work and took another test. Darker than the one on saturday!!! :P  That made me feel a little better.

  • I had some really serious cramping last night that really scared me. No bleeding or anything. But yes, I've had cramping.
  • Mild cramping, or AF-like cramps is very common in early pregnancy.  Last week I had mild stomach cramps and this week I have had slight back cramps.
