anyone else having a baby shower weeks before edd?

one of my showers had to be moved back b/c my uncle is getting married 3 months earlier than they said and so now my shower is literally 2 wks before my due date... anyone else having one so close to their due date?

My edd is Dec. 8th and according to DH my mother thinks it would be a great idea to have my shower on/around my birthday (mid Nov.).  I keep telling him he has to talk to her and convince her that is too close to my due date and I would be super stressed if the baby comes earlier then it is supposed to and we are not ready.

 On a side note, my mom totally wants it to be a surprise and I don't want that at all.  So go ahead and add that to the stress...

With DS1, my last shower was 2 weeks before my due date. I thought that was cutting it close myself but I didn't want to say anything since some friends were kind enough to host one. Luckily, it turned out to be fine. DS didn't come until 3 weeks later.

I'll be a few days shy of 35 weeks at my shower and at this point I'm not too worried about it.

I wouldn't even be that worried two weeks before hand - but that timeline just wouldn't work out for me since that it Thanksgiving weekend.

I have one on October 30- my EDD is Nov. 26., so about 3 1/2 weeks. It's a little close, but I'm sure to look good and pregnant at that point!

I'm expecting an early baby so even my shower date of Oct 9th with my due date of Dec 5th is making me nervous.

I wouldn't be able to wait until 2 weeks before my due date to finish preparing for the baby.

I feel like it's too close to my edd but it would be extremely ungrateful to say so seeing as how this is being thrown when they don't have to so I'll just see what happens!
