Need Help for Pool Party this weekend

Okay so where we live we don't have a pool or go to the beach or river or anything water related, so I don't have a maternity Bathing suit, But this weekend we are going home and SIL is having a small family pool party for her stepkids birthday and my MIL and FIL house there will just be family there and the Step kids aunt and grandmother.

But I'm kind of worried about Bathing suit. I have a one peice that is really uncomfortable around the belly now. I'm not Huge but I look like i could be half way through a pregnancy ( I've got 2 in there and this is my 2nd pregnancy )

Would it be poor taste to wear a 2 piece?  I haven't even been able to find a maternity bathing suit anywhere, and if i'm sitting out in the sun for 3 hours i want to get in the pool and play with my son.

  • I think it is fine to wear a 2 piece if you are comfortable.  I was at a water park and saw a girl who was very pregnant wearing a 2 piece and I thought she looked adorable!  So I say, whatever you are comfortable with.  Me on the other hand, would look hideous in a 2 piece before pregnancy, so I'm that chick with the Mommy suit and skirt bottom!

  • Yeah I'm not fond of the Very Pregnant in the 2 pieces, To me it seems like it would be so uncomfortable having no support. But i know everyone has their own opinion . Thanks =-D
  • If you're comfortable with a two piece, what does it matter what anyone else thinks?

And if you are only going to wear it for one weekend, why spend the money on a new bathing suit to wear for a few days and then possibly never again?

IMO, do what makes you feel most comfortable.

  • Agreed!  Wear the 2 piece and go swimming!

  • It depends, but I normally think a pregnant woman wearing a 2-piece is super cute. In any case, I'd do whatever is most physically comfortable, pending you're not exposing any lady bits.
  • Wear a two piece and cover it up with a spaghetti strap tank if you're shy about it. Take off the tank once you're in the water.

  • You know, I've been to beaches in Australia, Brazil and Greece, seen expecting moms in each, and I can't WAIT to rock the belly two-piece! Other countries don't even entertain maternity clothing - if yours fits, and you're comfortable - I say wear that baby (the swimsuit, that is)!

  • Oh, and I forgot... here's your chance to rock the two piece and not worry about sucking in the belly, LOL!!!

  • Two piece is fine! I would, but I couldn't have rocked it PP.

  • I would just pair the 2 piece with a maternity tank top if you're worried about it. Thats what I have been doing. No use buying a maternity ss when were all due in February, and only the crazies go swimming in winter :-)

  • Thank you ladies so much, I feel a lot better about it now, even though we are prob all a little biased, I like the idea of a two piece, especially not having to worry about a little belly hanging out a little =D
