Thanks for your response to my post re: DD's bloody mucus in her diaper. How old was your son when you rec'd the diagnosis about his intolerance? She's basically been on Similac Advanced since week 1 and she'll be 13 weeks in a couple days. I'm wondering if she would have experienced symptoms earlier if she was allergic.

Re: ****BFab11****

  • LO was only 3 or 4 weeks when he was diagnosed, but he had been in and out of the hospital, back and forth to the doctor, wasn't gaining weight, was throwing up everything he ate, etc. He's very sensitive and has strong reactions. If a baby has allergies, prolonged exposure can make for more serious reactions, which is why it may have taken this long to get here. I couldn't get a diagnosis from anyone until the blood in his diaper. We were on Similac Alimentium for a few days while I adjusted my diet; it's hypoallergenic and may work for you. Good luck!
