Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Diaper question about size 3

I'm going to Costco this weekend and will buy the big box of Huggies they have, but I'm not sure what size to get. Alexandra is a big girl at 16lbs (well, she was 16 lbs last week) but she is also a tall baby at 26 1/4." She's currently in 2s and they fit well. We have the majority of an 84 pack left.

I know diapers don't necessary fit according to weight but I was wondering, should I get size 2 or size 3? How much bigger are the 3s?

Re: Diaper question about size 3

  • I would go with the threes because you know that you will use them all whereas with the twos that may not be the case.  My DD is still in a size 2 she is around 14 or 15 pounds (her appointment is today) and they fit great but her history with diapers is they start to get small at around 2 pounds before the end size, which is 18 pounds for size 2.   Like your LO she is tall.  I have not had any issues putting a diaper on her that was a little big.

  • I would suggest 3's.

This. LO was about 16 lbs and 25 in when we moved up to 3s.

  • Thanky ou, lovely ladies! :) Can you believe we used to have our babies in newborn sizes, and size 1 looked gigantic? And now we're in 2s, and they look so small to me still! How strange.

  • The big box of size 1-2 Huggies diapers at Sam's Club runs up to 15 lbs, so I would buy the size 3.  I do not understand why they don't just have size 2 diapers at Sam's Club and probably at Costco, because the size 2 diapers at regular stores runs up to 18 lbs.  Weird!
