What to do for my birthday?

Ugh, not looking forward to my birthday next weekend.  I can't even go out and have a drink!  DH is taking my out to brunch with a couple friends, and besides that I'm going to buy myself a huge cake and stuff my fat face   I don't want DH to buy me anything for my bday either since we 're going to order the crib/dresser this weekend and money will be tight this month.

What else do you recommend I do to celebrate?  I feel like I can't do anything!

Use the day for relaxation. Stuff your face, have DH cater to you, and sleep! That's what I'd want, anyway. Lol.

My birthday's next weekend too!!! Well, Sept 6th to be specific. My grandmother was dying this time last year, so I took the long weekend to go see her for the last time and didn't end up having a good 30th birthday at all! I figured I'd make up for the lack of drinking and partying this birthday (31) but SURPRISE! We are probably having some friend over for a cook out next Monday but then in a couple of weekends my mom is taking me and my childhood bestfriend on a quick day trip to the beach (we live about 3 hours from the coast).

Is there an activity that you'd really like to do but know your DH wouldn't normally want to do like, go baby window shopping, or see a chick flick? Is there a special day trip you could take? For special occasions sometimes my DH and I drive a couple of hours to this town in the mountains that has the BEST restaurants! Brunch with your girlfriends sounds awesome too! And you don't necessarily have to drink to go out places. My experience has been that bartenders are more than happy to make a special non-alcoholic drink in a fancy glass for the mama-to-be! And trust me, I KNOW how money can be tight, we're dealing with the same thing here, but maybe there's something small you've wanted... a cute maternity shirt, a baby book, a journal, or something completely not-baby-related. From your profile, it sounds like you have had a stressful month and that you could use a relaxing day, and maybe even a prenatal-massage! Whatever you do, celebrate yourself and this special time in your life!

Do what you are comfortable with.. it isn't written anywhere that one must make a big to-do about their birthday if they don't want to. There will be many more birthdays where you might feel up to being more social.

My birthday is the day before my due date.. I most definitely plan to do nothing but lay around and stuff my face this year

My birthday was Friday and I didn't do a thing.  I went to work, came home and took a nap.  On Saturday night DH took me to dinner and I was too tired to see a movie that we planned on seeing.  I took the liberty of being able to relax and do whatever I wanted (which was nothing!) during the weekend.  Enjoy your birthday!

I decided for my birthday this year we are going to get a 3D/4D ultrasound to find out what we are having. We will be going next tuesday the day before my bday!

My Birthday was Friday as well. Just moved here a couple months ago so I don't really have any friends and no family here. DH and I just went out to dinner and I was in bed by 1130 lol. We hung out with his work friends Saturday night so that was kinda fun but it wasn't for me, which I was glad for. And don't forget you can always have virgin drinks!

I'm going to invite a few friends to go to the local bowling alley to do somma that dayglo-bowling, with the blacklights. It's pretty fun, and my birthday is in December so I think it'll be really cool to escape the rush of holiday shopping by doing some nice, relaxing bowling. Plus, I LOVE the bowling alley's chili dogs!!
