TTC After a Loss

when to call?

I thought I'd ask you ladies before I decided on a plan of action. My f/u appointment to my d&c went well but I'm a bit confused on the timing of what's to come. My doc did not test me and will not test my levels. He simply said if it's been 3 months and still no AF to give him a call. Now i know the average is 6 to 8 weeks before we actually get our AF, but I'm wondering what the average time is that a doc has advised you to call back if you haven't had AF yet.

So to you laides out there who are not being tested down to 0, what was the timing your doc advised on AF? 3 months seems a bit long before even checking in with him.

thanks!

Re: when to call?

  • My doctor said eight weeks, but I had a c-section-not a m/c.  I still think that is what most people on here said they were told also.

  • My OB told me 60 days, but she did test me down to 0. However, I've known other women who they did not test down, and their OB told them 60 days as well. I hope you don't even have to worry about it. After my first loss, AF came in 4 weeks. Good luck!

  • I was told to call if I didn't get AF within 6 weeks.  That happened and I was given Provera.  I started AF at 8 weeks post m/c.
  • ok, that sounds good. I'll use 8 weeks as my mark rather than 12. that's what I figured would be best. 12 weeks seems a bit long.

    thanks for your help!

  • My doc said it should come in 4-6 weeks and to call at 8 if she wasn't here yet. I'm 3 weeks out though and still bleeding so i don't see her coming anytime soon :(
