Went in for what I thought was going to be a 4d ultrasound

I really wanted to know whether my baby  was a boy/girl. I looked up all the ultrasound places and the one I chose was the only one that said 4d ultrasound at 15 weeks. So I went today (they make you sign there contract before going in) and they did a regular 2d ultrasound like at your dr.s. I told them that the website said 4d so she showed me my baby for 2 seconds in 4d but not the babies private parts. Anyhow, she said she was 90% it was a girl because there was 3 lines. How accurate do you think she is because even the pictures she gave me were extremely small compared to the one I got from my drs?

  • at 15 weeks a 4d ultrasound would still be kind of not so cute.

all the webistes I read for elective u/s's are done at 4d places but the gender peak is 2d.

You would really want a 4d when you are 30+ weeks when its cuter.

If you paid out of pocket I would want 100% confirmation and a shot of the girly bits

  • I have an elective ultrasound scheduled for two weeks from now, at about 16-1/2 weeks. I have heard that they still do early gender detection in 2d because the genitals still look very similar at this age. The one I'm going to won't even do a scan for gender determination until at least 16 weeks. And at 15 weeks babies aren't very cute, they aren't plump yet.

  • The reason I was sooo upset is because I would have just waited for my ultrasound thats in Sept by my dr.s office. instead of paying for this ultrasound. But I am happy that I got to see my baby the only thing that worried me is that the lady told me my baby was small.
