help!-teething

My LO is teething and miserable. It started last week with really loose stools. She got a horrible diaper rash and I finally called the dr. and since they were closed I had to take her to urgent care because the nurse on the nurse line said they were worried about dehydration. While we were there they told us her gums were really swollen and she was teething. It took forever to get her to go to sleep tonight because she was in so much pain. I tried Tylenol and Orajel and she won't take a teething ring. How long will this last? I can't stand seeing her so miserable.

  • Have you tried Hyland's Teething Tabs? I hear those work well (both from on this board and in real life).

  • Hyland's Teething Tablets have been our miracle!  DS is an early teether and it started fast and with a vengeance.  He isn't old enough to take regular doses of Tylenol, and I've heard that Orajel does more harm than good (numbing the tongue and throat).  My sister recommended Hyland's Tabs and they have been working so well.  They are all natural, so you can't possibly overdose.  I have been giving him 3 every two hours during the day and when he wakes at night.  He is still drooling a lot and biting his hands, but he has not had any crying meltdowns since we started the tabs.
